Summer-Blooming Plants Search Part Three: Garden Flowers, Wildflowers, and Flowers of the Western Sichuan Plateau

The hottest season is about to arrive. In the furnace city of Chongqing, 40-degree high-temperature days usually begin around July 20, last through all of August, and only get a bit more bearable in September.
And this year, I feel my heat tolerance has dropped noticeably. Just a few days ago it was only 37 degrees, and I was already so hot I felt dizzy, scatterbrained all day, and dumbstruck.
My best friend used to often say, "As soon as summer comes, my soul flies away, my spirit leaves my body, and I can't get anything done..." Now, I finally understand how she feels. Thinking back to the year before last, I once bravely went to the banks of the Yangtze River on a 40-degree afternoon with a power outage to photograph the tiny flowers of the negundo chastetree - it feels like a lifetime ago.
In the hottest season, there actually aren't many flowering plants. The star, of course, is the crape myrtle, nicknamed "hundred-day red," a true model worker. Next is the rose of Sharon. As for the bewitching cotton rose, sometimes it blooms in summer, sometimes in autumn, but this year, it has already bloomed.
This collection features summer flowers I wrote about in 2016 and 2017, with bloom times in July and August, located in the southwest. Some were posted in autumn, mainly because of their long flowering periods, so I've included them here as well.
Also,Zhou Min is Mushan. After the WeChat public account system was redesigned, the original pen name magically could no longer be used, and all the friends writing public accounts were forced to change their names. For example, Doujia of "Chengnan Huashi" became "Doudoudoujia," and Yifan of "Yifan zhi Huayan Caoyu" became "Yifan csp"...
