The orchid is a common plant. It has no striking posture, nor large flowers or leaves, yet it reveals a plain, quiet, elegant and noble temperament, and many literati are especially fond of it.

Keeping an orchid alive is not hard, but growing an orchid well is not so easy. Some flower lovers grow orchids that are extremely beautiful, while others grow ones that look about the same as weeds, and the gap is obvious.

With the arrival of summer, many plants are affected by high temperatures and their growth becomes slow, and orchids are affected in the same way. Today Hua'er will introduce orchid care to everyone: using its "juice" to grow orchids has a special effect, with new shoots sprouting rapidly, leaves emerald green and glossy, and flowers blooming batch after batch.

This "juice" is the sap of willow branches. Because it contains a large amount of salicylic acid, it can stimulate the orchid root system to absorb nutrients, promote leaf emergence, and help flower bud differentiation. It can be said that in summer, using this juice to grow orchids works better than fertilizing and sun exposure.

The method is also particularly simple. Just go to a willow tree and cut a few tender new branches, cut them into small sections, crush them and put them in a basin, add clean water to dilute and soak, shake well thoroughly, and then it is ready to use. Each time take the supernatant liquid and pour it into the potting soil. It can be poured once every 3 days, and after a period of time you will be able to see obvious growth in the orchid.

During this period, fertilizer can be appropriately increased a little, mainly phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, applying diluted liquid fertilizer. Flower lovers who have spare time can go to the park to collect some earthworm castings. Earthworm castings are rich in nutrients and can be directly absorbed by the root system, promoting growth and making the leaves even more emerald green and glossy.

Specific method: first sun-dry the collected earthworm castings for one day, then grind them into powder. They can be scattered directly on the surface of the potting soil, or dig some small holes around the flower pot, put one small spoon of earthworm casting powder into each small hole, then cover it with soil. After watering thoroughly, the powder will mix into the soil, and the root system will be able to absorb it.

Orchid care is introduced here. If flower lovers have other additions, you can share them with everyone in the comment section below. If you want to learn more about flower-growing knowledge, you can follow Hua Hua Xian Zi!
