Yuan Zai's Growth Photos Opened for Non-Profit Use

The Taipei City Government Department of Economic Development announced that applications for non-profit use of the adorable growth photos of Taipei City Honorary Citizen "Yuan Zai" will open on the 22nd! Any legally established business, legal entity, or government or institutional organization may fill out the application form and submit a proposal and other relevant documents to the Department of Economic Development. After review and approval by the review panel, the use of giant panda Yuan Zai images will be authorized free of charge. All sectors are welcome to join hands with the city government in contributing to the promotion of ecological conservation.
In order to enhance city marketing and promote ecological conservation, and to effectively manage the authorization of giant panda Yuan Zai logos and photos, the Department of Economic Development has planned two authorization methods: "non-profit use" and "for-profit use." Among them, for the "authorization for non-profit use" portion, the "Taipei City Government Giant Panda Yuan Zai Exclusive Image File Non-Profit Use Authorization Guidelines" have been established. The aforementioned use guidelines authorize the use of exclusive image files such as the name of giant panda Yuan Zai, logos that can represent giant panda Yuan Zai, and photos, including a series of growth photos of giant panda Yuan Zai taken by the Taipei Zoo.
The Taipei City Government Department of Economic Development additionally stated that for the for-profit authorization portion used in product development, relevant use guidelines are currently being drafted. In the future, these will be paired with the city government's exclusive logo for giant panda Yuan Zai. It is expected that the announcement will be completed in early December and applications from manufacturers will be accepted. After review and approval by the city government's review panel and the acquisition of authorization, manufacturers may proceed with product development. This authorized use involves for-profit activities, and manufacturers must pay a certain royalty fee.
