Illegal homestays in Cingjing to be published within 2 weeks

Minister of the Interior Li Hongyuan visited Pingtung yesterday. Regarding illegal homestays in Cingjing Farm, he said a list will be published within 2 weeks, and that he has a consensus with Premier Jiang Yi-huah on the direction of handling.
Li Hongyuan visited Pingtung yesterday and made the above statement in response to media questions about the Cingjing homestay issue.
Li Hongyuan said the list of illegal homestays in Cingjing will be published within two weeks. These two weeks are for discussing supporting measures: how should legal ones be handled? How should illegal ones be handled? They must be classified and graded. There are no political considerations, only technical considerations.
Li Hongyuan said the announcement itself is simple, but it must take into account tourist safety, the welfare of homestay employees and the interests of operators. The entire supporting workload is huge, and completing it in two weeks is already very difficult. The Ministry of the Interior is not leaning toward not publishing; rather, the entire supporting package must come out: how to provide guidance, how to demolish, how to restore. "It is actually quite complicated."
Li Hongyuan said safety depends on location, not on whether it is legal, so it must be classified and graded and clarified quickly. This is the reason it is somewhat tricky.
He said that although the disaster potential map has not yet been published, it has already been disclosed on the Ministry of the Interior website. County and city governments and units can follow the Cingjing model to assess how to handle it, and the Ministry of the Interior can also assist with technical and funding support. Li Hongyuan said the two weeks are the time needed for professional technical work, and no error is allowed, so an on-site survey in Cingjing must be conducted. Only after confirmation with the Nantou County Government can the supporting measures possibly be produced, so as not to let unsettling information spread.
