Top 20 Innovative Enterprises: Wangpin Takes the Championship

The Ministry of Economic Affairs announced the results of the 2013 Taiwan Innovative Enterprise Survey. Restaurant leader the Wangpin Group pushed aside HTC to take the championship. Among the top 20, seven enterprises newly entered the list, including Eclat, Eslite, Formosa Plastics, Lion Travel, Merida, FarEasTone and Din Tai Fung.

The "Taiwan Innovative Enterprise Survey" is organized by the Industrial Development Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, executed by the China Productivity Center, and co-organized by Business Next and the international Boston Consulting Group. This year marks its 3rd year, using consumer interviews and financial performance as indicators.

In this year's top 20 list, the Wangpin Group rose from 4th place last year to push aside HTC and take the championship. TSMC and Asus remained in the same 2nd and 3rd places as last year, while HTC fell to 4th place, and 5th place went to President Chain Store.

MediaTek and Giant Manufacturing, which ranked 8th and 9th last year, strove upward this year to take 6th and 7th places, while Eclat and Eslite performed well upon first entering the list, ranking 8th and 9th respectively; 10th place went to Hon Hai Enterprise, which was 6th last year, a barely satisfactory performance.

The 11th to 20th places were respectively Hiwin, Delta Electronics, Formosa Plastics, Lion Travel, Yulon, CTBC Financial Holding, Merida, FarEasTone, Largan Precision and Din Tai Fung; among them, Formosa Plastics, Lion Travel, Merida, FarEasTone and Din Tai Fung were newly entered, showing that the competitiveness of the service industry has strengthened.
