TAITRA Leads Delegation to Myanmar and Laos to Expand Markets
Expanding into the Myanmar and Laos Markets: TAITRA Leads a Delegation

To help manufacturers expand their sales operations in Myanmar and Laos, TAITRA will organize an industrial product sales expansion delegation on March 3. The registration deadline is January 29, and registration will close early once capacity is reached.
The 10 ASEAN countries, with a population of 618 million and abundant resources, have gradually emerged on the international stage in recent years, especially as their economic growth rates have repeatedly achieved outstanding results, attracting global attention.
The Taiwan External Trade Development Council stated that Myanmar, with a population of more than 60 million, urgently needs imported machinery for agriculture and industry to improve production technology and output. In addition, power outages often occur in commercial districts, creating strong demand for electromechanical equipment, and high-quality Taiwan products have great room for growth in Myanmar.
In addition, although Laos has a population of only 6.59 million, the Lao government is currently actively promoting financial and economic reforms and opening its market to the outside world. In recent years, its economy has grown rapidly, with economic growth rates above 6% since 2002, and per capita income of USD 1,320. In February 2013, it joined the World Trade Organization (WTO), and is now driving economic development by linking with international trade, beginning to move toward faster growth.
TAITRA pointed out that from March 3 to 12, it will organize an industrial product sales delegation to Myanmar and Laos, recruiting 30 manufacturers involved in agricultural machinery and its parts, complete plant equipment, electrical equipment and its parts, automobile parts, and power generation equipment and devices, to seize business opportunities in the two countries.
