Pothos is easy to grow and beautiful, and basically every home has one or two pots of it. It's also very easy to grow long vines, which makes it even prettier.

Many plant lovers also find that its vines get too long with nowhere to put them, and they don't know what to do.

When they can't think of a suitable solution themselves, they ask fellow plant lovers for help and see how they all place the long leaves of their pothos.

Place it high and let it hang down

Hanging it has a waterfall-like effect, and there are quite a few ways to do it. You can hang the pot from a ceiling that can bear enough weight, or by a window, as long as there is enough indirect light.

You can also place it in a relatively high spot, such as a second floor, the top of a cabinet, or on a taller plant stand.

Flower pot support

Setting up a support is a method that is easier to care for, solves the problem once and for all, and also saves space.

You can do this with a sturdy wooden stake or a straight PVC pipe. Tie a few sections of thin wire around the middle, and the pothos vines can easily be wrapped around and fixed in place.

Give it a wall

The vines and leaves of pothos have a climbing function. As long as you give it a wall, it will climb up on its own.

This method requires a suitable wall at home. If the wall is very dry, you can first put a little toilet paper behind it and fix it with tape to help it climb. It won't take long before it grows aerial roots on its own and climbs up, and even taking it down will take some effort!

Find a point of support to lean on

If you don't want it to climb the wall, and you feel a wooden stake isn't lively enough, you can use this method.

Use wire to make a few large chain-like loops; various geometric shapes all look good. Then hang the vines up or drape them over, and they will look very beautiful.

With a little outside help, even a single piece of wire can produce a nice effect!

After seeing these beautiful pothos photos, it really makes your heart flutter! I believe that as long as you are willing to put in the effort, the pothos you grow yourself can also be beautiful, and everyone who sees it will praise it!

=================================

I think many people, like me, have once deeply experienced this: watching other people's beautiful pothos vines hang down and climb the walls, while your own just won't grow vines at all, which really makes you both envious and anxious!

Later, I asked around and learned a lot of experience. Let me share it with you all!

Water thoroughly

On the premise that the bottom of the pot drains well enough and won't cause waterlogging, water thoroughly, especially when the temperature is relatively high. Without enough water, pothos definitely won't grow fast.

To avoid waterlogging, you can remember your watering frequency, and after some time observe whether there is a yellow-leaf problem. Once yellow leaves appear, reduce the amount of watering in time.

Bottom watering is recommended; after bottom watering, keep the environment ventilated.

It's best not to keep it in shade for a long time

Pothos doesn't like direct sunlight, but that doesn't mean it dislikes sunlight. If conditions allow, occasionally let it bask in the sun during the cool early morning or evening, which can promote the growth of pothos. For daily care, bright indirect light is better.

Fertilize monthly for good growth

If you want the pothos branches and leaves to be greener and more vigorous, you can't do without supplemental fertilizer. When fertilizing pothos, nitrogen fertilizer is primary and potassium fertilizer is secondary. As for the timing of fertilization, it should be at least once a month, and no more than three times.

Watering once every two weeks with rice-washing water is also good. Beer is rich in carbon dioxide and nutrients. Mixing beer with water at a ratio of ten to one to water the flowers or wipe the leaves is also a very good choice.

Proper pruning promotes rapid growth

Pruning is also very important for pothos: first, pruning affects the plant's shape, and plant lovers can prune according to the needs of the shape; second, remove the weak and old, and promptly cut off branches that are not strong in growth and old ones that affect the growth of new branches, which can encourage stronger branches to grow.

Choose a slightly larger flower pot

For pothos with many plants and larger seedlings, there must be a matching flower pot to provide enough nutrients for its growth. If the flower pot is too small and there are many plants, they will compete for nutrients and still not have enough, let alone grow sturdy vines!

If the plants are too dense, divide them

The number of plants inevitably affects overall growth.

If a pot has about ten plants, it may look lush and green, but in fact the nutrients are definitely not enough. To grow vines, it needs more care in terms of soil, fertilizer, and water. Generally, 6 or 7 pothos plants are enough, and if there are more, you must divide them in time to grow more beautifully.
