Pothos, money tree, spider plant and the like are all foliage plants that flower lovers quite like. They stay green all year round, are especially good for the eyes when looked at often, and their air-purifying ability is also super strong, so any household that grows flowers will have one. Still, some flower lovers just can't grow them well. Because of that, today I'll share a few small tips for caring for foliage plants. I hope you like them!

The main nutrient that foliage plants need is nitrogen fertilizer, because the main role of nitrogen fertilizer is: its main role is to strengthen vegetative growth and promote lush branches and leaves. Flower lovers can use this kind of thing to make their own nitrogen fertilizer; the method is very simple and very practical:

Take an appropriate amount of soybeans and soak them in water for about 10 hours. Once the beans have soaked and swollen, put them in a pressure cooker and simmer for about 30 minutes, then take them out, let them cool, and use them to grow pothos, spider plant, money tree, clivia, kalanchoe, Christmas cactus and other flowers. Foliage plants can use it in all four seasons; flowering plants can use it outside their blooming period

The method of use is as follows:

1. You can bury them directly in the flower pot. Dig a hole at the edge of the pot, put in 2-3 beans directly, and cover with soil. It's that simple. When using it this way, note that it must be kept away from the roots. As you water, the beans will slowly ferment and decompose in the soil, and the nutrients will slowly leach out, thus achieving the goal of growing flowers. It will make your potted plants lush with branches and leaves. Pothos, spider plant, money tree, asparagus fern, kalanchoe, Christmas cactus and clivia especially love it.

2. You can also find a plastic bottle, crush the soybeans, put them in, and add some chopped orange peel. Fill it to 80% full with rice-washing water. Once filled, put it in a place with plenty of sunlight. In this season, 2-4 weeks is enough.

When using it, you can open the lid to let the smell out, then bring it indoors to use. When using, take the upper clear liquid and mix it with clean water at a 1:10 ratio to water the flowers. The effect is great~!

Flower lovers, the method is very simple. Have you learned it?

If you want to grow flowers well, watering is the key, so below I'll share the watering methods for 5 common potted plants. I hope you like them!

1. How do you water pothos?

Pothos likes moisture. In spring, summer and autumn, the potting soil should be kept moist; if the soil is too dry, the leaves tend to turn yellow. But watering too much and causing waterlogging will lead to root rot and withered leaves. Generally, in spring, late autumn and winter, water once every 5-4 days; in summer, water once every 2-3 days, and often spray water on the leaves and the ground around them to increase air humidity and keep the leaves bright green.

2. How do you water the money tree?

The money tree has strong adaptability to moisture. The first principle of watering the money tree is to prefer moist over dry. In the high-temperature summer season, water more; in winter, water less. Water more during the vigorous growth period; water less for small plants that were recently repotted. Under normal circumstances, watering once every 15 to 20 days is enough.

3. How do you water asparagus fern?

Asparagus fern has fleshy roots, so watering must be done with care. Each watering should soak through; do not water only halfway, or the roots and stems won't absorb water and will wither and die. The amount of water should not be too much or too little; it should be reasonably controlled. When the potting soil is slightly dry, water promptly. You should "water thoroughly when dry." If the indoor air is too dry, promptly spray water on the leaves to increase air humidity

4. How do you water clivia?

The soil should not be too dry or too wet. Each watering must soak through, and after buds appear, water a bit more. About every 20 days, combine watering with applying fermented soybean cake water once, combining watering and fertilizing.

5. How do you water the Christmas cactus?

During the growth period, use the soaking method for watering. Water just enough to keep the potting soil moist, and never let water accumulate in the pot, which would cause root rot. Usually in spring and autumn, water once every 2-3 days; in summer, water once every 2 days, and often spray the leaves to increase air humidity so it can safely get through summer. During the bud-setting and blooming period, if the potting soil is too dry or too wet, it will cause flowers and buds to drop.
