Facilitating Taiwan Businesspeople's Entry and Exit: Zibo Police Launch New Measures

The Public Security Bureau of Zibo City, Shandong Province, recently issued ten measures for serving Taiwan businesspeople and Taiwan compatriots, hoping to further facilitate the work and life of Taiwan businesspeople and Taiwan compatriots in Zibo and promote economic and cultural exchanges and cooperation between the two places.

According to a report by China Taiwan Net, Ding Guanyong, director of the Public Security Bureau of Zibo City, Shandong Province, recently led a team to conduct research at Taiwan-funded enterprises, to learn about the work and life situation of Taiwan businesspeople in Zibo, and to listen to the opinions and suggestions of Taiwan businesspeople on hot issues such as processing multiple endorsements and renewing documents for the Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents, and driver's licenses.

On the basis of the research and widely solicited opinions, the Public Security Bureau of Zibo City issued the Notice on Printing and Distributing the Ten Measures of the Public Security Bureau of Zibo City for Serving Taiwan Businesspeople and Taiwan Compatriots on January 13, 2014. The detailed provisions mainly include: for Taiwan businesspeople and Taiwan compatriots, processing entry-exit endorsement documents in the fastest time; extending the validity period of Taiwan compatriots' mainland travel endorsements and residence endorsements as needed to the maximum extent; implementing appointment services, agency services and door-to-door services for the processing of Taiwan compatriots' endorsement documents; carrying out online pre-acceptance services for temporary accommodation registration and endorsements of Taiwan compatriots; establishing a long-term contact and service mechanism with Taiwan compatriots and Taiwan-funded enterprises; giving priority to processing household registration procedures for the family members of Taiwan compatriots and technical talent introduced by Taiwan-funded enterprises; opening a green channel for fire safety administrative approval business; optimizing service measures for vehicle and driver management business processing; strengthening safety prevention work inside and around Taiwan-funded enterprises; and promptly and properly handling cases (matters) involving Taiwan businesspeople and Taiwan compatriots; and other ten measures.

The development of service activities for Taiwan businesspeople by the public security system of Zibo City, especially the formulation of the ten measures for serving Taiwan businesspeople and Taiwan compatriots, optimized the city's environment for investment promotion toward Taiwan and raised the city's standard of work related to Taiwan.
