The original tiramisu shop closes at the end of this month

According to foreign media reports, Le Beccherie, the original shop of the world-famous Italian dessert tiramisu, has announced that, hit by the poor economy, it will close for good at the end of this month.
Le Beccherie, a well-known Italian restaurant located in Treviso in northern Italy, is famous worldwide for inventing tiramisu, and every year it attracts tens of thousands of tourists specifically to the area to taste this chocolate cake regarded as synonymous with Italian dessert.
However, hit by Italy's financial crisis, the old shop also faces the predicament of a sharp drop in tourists and poor business.
The New York "Daily News" pointed out that Le Beccherie, which opened on the day World War II began in 1939, will officially become history and close for good at the end of March because it could not withstand the impact of the economic recession.
