Salad oil price increase: Taiwan Sugar Corporation: reflecting costs
Taiwan Sugar Corporation confirmed yesterday that it has adjusted its salad oil products, mainly to reflect international soybean prices. According to reports, Taiwan Sugar's 18-liter soybean salad oil price increase has hit snack shops.
Taiwan Sugar held a press conference yesterday to explain the reason for the increase in the price of 18-liter soybean salad oil. Taiwan Sugar pointed out that international soybeans have risen nearly 10% in the past 3 months, and Taiwan Sugar has also raised the price of 18-liter soybean salad oil, from NT$670 to NT$680, an increase of NT$10, effective March 8.
Taiwan Sugar said that other manufacturers' 18-liter soybean salad oil prices have long exceeded NT$700, and Taiwan Sugar has only raised its price slightly, while the prices of other small-package salad oils remain unchanged.
Taiwan Sugar said that salad oil is not a very profitable product, and Taiwan Sugar is reflecting the increase in international soybean prices; if international soybean prices fall in the future, Taiwan Sugar will also lower salad oil prices.
