Zhengyi Public Housing Urban Renewal in Taipei City Broke Ground Yesterday

(Taiwan Business News) The much-watched Zhengyi Public Housing urban renewal project in Taipei City held its groundbreaking ceremony yesterday. A resident representative said they were grateful to the many people who helped along the way, allowing the residents to see their urban renewal dream come true.

Resident representative Mr. Zhang said he witnessed the groundbreaking ceremony with a grateful heart. Looking back, the redevelopment of the Zhengyi Building was fraught with difficulties and stalled, but thanks to the Taipei City Urban Renewal Platform, a glimmer of hope appeared. He also thanked Taipei Mayor Hau Lung-bin for supporting redevelopment through the urban renewal model. The Zhengyi Public Housing project finally passed the urban renewal design change review and environmental impact assessment one after another in March of this year.

" For old community redevelopment, the most critical and most difficult part is integrating the residents," Mr. Zhang said. He counted himself fortunate that along the way, the implementer and many others worked hard on integration, helping residents and the implementer build a harmonious relationship. Such mutual trust is the most solid foundation for the success of an urban renewal project.

Taipei Deputy Mayor Chang Chin-ngo said that whether it is Zhengyi Public Housing or Wenlin Yuan, urban renewal is gradually being pushed forward. The Taipei City Government is fully promoting urban renewal through various means, and implementers and landowners will gradually gain confidence.

Taipei Deputy Mayor Chang Chin-ngo said that residents' confidence is very important. From the Zhengyi Public Housing case, one can see the Taipei City Government's determination and attitude in promoting urban renewal. However, replacing protest and confrontation with consultation and negotiation is the path urban renewal must take.

Taipei Mayor Hau Lung-bin said that the old Zhengyi Public Housing buildings will become two brand-new 30-story modern towers in the future. This is a historic moment. Today's groundbreaking ceremony is a milestone for Taipei City, working with the implementer and local residents to successfully complete a very difficult urban renewal project. "Today we are not only building a landmark for the city, but also a benchmark for urban renewal projects."
