Sony Mobile announced the launch of the mid-to-low-end model E1 in Taiwan, emphasizing it as an Android smartphone built specifically for "music lovers," featuring extra-large dual speakers, a built-in Sony Walkman music player app, and Clear Audio exclusive sound technology plus xLOUD sound enhancement technology.

The Xperia E1 is launched in exclusive partnership with Chunghwa Telecom offering a discounted rate plan: NT$333 monthly rent, take the phone home for 0 yuan, plus enjoy 3 free on-network hotline calls, unlimited mobile internet browsing for the first 6 months, and free use of nearly 40,000 CHT Wi-Fi hotspots across Taiwan.

Institutional investors are optimistic that Wistron's operations as a Sony supply chain partner in Taiwan will be supported, mainly by the E series models launching in the second quarter of this year and the low-priced LTE models launching in the third quarter. With Sony rolling out new phones and continuing to target emerging markets, Wistron is expected to benefit.
