Taipei City energy-saving system: Tatung wins the tender again

Tatung General Manager Lin Kuo Wen-yen said yesterday that the company has again won the New Taipei City energy-saving system tender. The total installed capacity of this project is 3 million watts (3MWp), covering 30 schools and public markets in New Taipei City, and is expected to be connected to the grid for power generation in September this year.

After winning the 2013 "New Taipei City publicly managed public building rooftop solar photovoltaic power generation system tender lease project," Tatung won the 2014 annual tender lease project again. A contract signing press conference was held this morning at New Taipei Municipal Linkou High School, where the contract was signed with New Taipei City Mayor Eric Chu.

Lin Kuo Wen-yen said that urban energy consumption is rapid and trending upward, and developing renewable energy and practicing energy conservation and carbon reduction are the most important policy directions for local governments. With the full support of Eric Chu and Yeh Hui-ching, Director-General of the New Taipei City Government Economic Development Department, Tatung is honored to participate in New Taipei City's Sunshine Market and Green Energy Campus program, once again joining hands with the city government team to create a model of "PV-ESCO rooftop power generation" for northern Taiwan.

She said that in addition to benefiting schools in New Taipei City, the 2014 installation also adds solar photovoltaic systems to public markets. Tatung also provides smart meters and monitoring systems, creating a green energy campus that advances both power generation and energy conservation.

According to estimates by the New Taipei City Government, the 2013 and 2014 New Taipei City publicly managed public building rooftop solar photovoltaic power generation system tender lease projects have a combined capacity of 6MWp, can generate 6 million kWh of electricity per year, reduce carbon dioxide by 3,780 metric tons annually, and can provide the annual electricity consumption of 1,706 households and the carbon absorption of 8 Daan Forest Parks for 1 year.

From last year to this year, Tatung is about to complete the operation of 20MWp solar photovoltaic power generation system plants in New Taipei City, Nantou, Taichung, Pingtung, Tainan, and Kaohsiung, fully committing to Taiwan's renewable energy and practicing energy conservation and carbon reduction.
