Tainan Natives Gathering: New Taipei City Mayor Eric Chu Attends to Express Recognition

(Taiwan Business News) New Taipei City Mayor Eric Chu was invited on the 20th to attend the second meeting of the second term of the New Taipei City Tainan Natives Care Association. He affirmed that the association plays an important role, not only encouraging young people to care for their elders, but also holding events during major festivals each year to care for the elderly, fulfilling the spirit of caring for the disadvantaged and uniting in mutual aid.

New Taipei City Mayor Eric Chu stated that the residents of New Taipei City come from all counties and cities in Taiwan. Among the more than 4 million residents, most come from Tainan, Chiayi, Yunlin, Changhua and other counties and cities. A good city should enable its residents to live and work in peace and contentment. Currently, in addition to ranking first nationwide in investment promotion, New Taipei City has also achieved outstanding results in smooth roads, bright streetlights, unobstructed drainage, a clean environment, and peaceful communities. Taking smooth roads as an example, in the past, Taipei County had insufficient budget and poor results in road smoothness, but after New Taipei City's upgrade, without an increase in budget, it achieved the second place nationwide in road smoothness. As for environmental cleanliness, because residents cherish the environment, the per capita daily resource recycling volume is as high as twice that of other counties and cities, and it has ranked first nationwide as the cleanest city for seven consecutive years. Public safety and social order have also been approved by the Executive Yuan as the best nationwide, and these are all the results of residents working together and supporting municipal work.

The New Taipei City Tainan Natives Care Association takes as its purpose connecting the friendships of fellow natives, giving play to the spirit of mutual aid, promoting social prosperity, and assisting the government in implementing policies. At noon today, it held the second meeting of the second term, chaired by Chairman Chiu Wu-chi, with guests such as Legislators Lin Hung-chih and Chiang Hui-chen, and City Councilor Lin Kuo-chun also present.
