Quality grades of Saposhnikovia divaricata

Saposhnikovia divaricata is divided into two grades according to size and thickness.

Grade 1: The root is cylindrical, with wrinkles on the surface and fibrous hairs at the top. The outer bark is yellowish-brown or grayish-yellow, the texture is loose and relatively soft, the cross-section is brownish-yellow or yellowish-white, and the center is light yellow. The root is more than 15 cm long, and the diameter below the rhizome is more than 0.6 cm.

Grade 2: The root occasionally has branches, the diameter below the rhizome is more than 0.4 cm, and the rest is the same as Grade 1.
