In 2015, we got a house of our own. By the time all the paperwork was done, it was already the end of the year, and we looked forward to starting the renovation in spring.
In 2016, we were self-sufficient. In the blink of an eye, the renovation was finished and winter had arrived. We added a roomful of pothos to purify the air. While browsing a greenhouse, we came across a small, cute type of plant. Later we learned it was called a succulent. We picked a few pots by eye and placed them on the bay window of our new home. It was them, the first little succulents we met, shown in the photo below, quietly waiting for us in the new home for half a year.
As with many first encounters, most of the succulents have passed on. What remains is the beauty of companionship, of sharing sweet and bitter times together, of never forgetting our original heart!
I ran into a lady in the park, who is now the leader of our succulent group. Most of the succulents below came from her. She is very kind and her prices are fair, so more and more people like her and like succulents.

Looking at these succulents every day, my heart feels incredibly grounded, as if time itself has slowed down. They calm your heart and make you forget all the disturbances of the outside world. Loving them is like longing for the child I have never met.
Where he went, I have no way of knowing. I recite it silently in my heart again and again, careful day after day, yet you were still so mischievous, breaking free from mommy's body and heading far away. Where is far away? I am powerless, letting you go. Three transfers, from October 14, 2017 to May 31, 2018, my child, these 230 days of torment and longing, dad and I drove 7,280 kilometers, mommy received 55 various intramuscular and intravenous injections, carrying all of your sister's hopes, and you, still did not come.
Time after time, mommy's heart went from hope to disappointment, afraid to fantasize or yearn, yet in the end you never came. Looking back, the experiences of all these days feel like a dream. Now, I have woken up, everything has returned to the starting point. Mommy does not regret it, at least we were once united as one. During the days you were in mommy's body, surely you could feel us too, me, dad, and sister. Child, you will always live in the warmest corner of mommy's heart. Do not be afraid, that place is the safest, a treasure chest holding mommy's emotions. Do not be lonely, because mommy is always there, we have already become one, and right now we are together.
Child, let me tell you a little secret. From the very beginning, mommy made a QQ account for you. Only mommy has ever been there, and at any time it belongs only to us. Mommy has left messages for you there, baby. Mommy will keep leaving you messages, kept for a lifetime, an email address belonging to us mother and child. Also, I will keep taking photos of mommy for you. You must look carefully and remember, so that in the next life we can recognize each other as mother and child. Let me be your mommy and you be my son, alright? Love you! Forever and ever! Missing this life, hoping for the next!
This thick stack of receipts is the witness of mom and dad's efforts to have you. In those indescribable days, succulents accompanied mommy through it all. Now, mommy has been revived with full energy, once again an angel who saves the dying and heals the wounded, able to treat more patients and help more families! Life has returned to normal again, only, I will still miss you! Thanks to all these little succulents that came into our home, healing mommy's heart that misses you!
