Luo Chuanxiang of Guangshan County, Henan, grows space lotus and embarks on the road to prosperity

On September 10, farmer Luo Chuanxiang and his wife, of Yangbang Village, Popihe Town, Guangshan County, were picking lotus seeds from space lotus. The county attaches importance to developing specialty agriculture, with government support and technical guidance, encouraging farmers to vigorously develop specialty agricultural industries such as lotus root, grapes and lotus seed pods. This spring, Luo Chuanxiang introduced a high-efficiency space lotus variety from Huanggang City, Hubei Province, and planted 12 mu of space lotus, which has now yielded a bumper harvest, with an output value of 3,600 yuan per mu. After processing, the space lotus seeds were snapped up by visiting merchants from Jiangxi Province. This year, Luo Chuanxiang earned a total of 41,000 yuan from growing space lotus.
