First career-themed center unveiled in Hsinchu City

(Taiwan Business News) The nation's first "Job Taole Learning Center" providing career education and career development officially opened in Hsinchu City on the morning of the 29th! Minister of Labor Pan Shih-wei and Hsinchu Mayor Hsu Ming-tsai jointly launched the official cooperation mechanism between the Hsinchu Citizen Card and the Job Taole Learning Center membership card, which will provide Hsinchu City residents with more integrated employment services.
Minister Pan stated that this is Taiwan's first lifelong career development center for all ages, essentially condensing the working environments of various different occupations into this center for everyone to experience firsthand. It is hoped that young people can use this center to understand what they should do when they step out into society to find work, what kind of work they want to find, and what kind of traits they need.
Minister Pan praised the Hsinchu City Government for arranging students to visit this center through field trips, calling it excellent labor education, and expressed hope that this model can be promoted throughout all of Taiwan so everyone can participate.
Mayor Hsu stated that Hsinchu City has ranked first nationwide in employment and labor participation for many consecutive years, and will work even harder this year. The Hsinchu City Government holds more than a dozen job fairs every year, and he thanked the officials of the Ministry of Labor for their full support, giving Hsinchu City residents many job opportunities. The Minister mentioned that nationwide there are 2 to 3 job opportunities available for young people to choose from; Taipei City has just over two, while Hsinchu City has three. Every Hsinchu City resident looking for work has nearly three job opportunities available. In just the past few years, more than a dozen job fairs have been held, providing 40,000 to 50,000 job opportunities, and when the Taiwan Pavilion of the World Expo was established, nearly 8,000 job opportunities were provided.
The "Job Taole Learning Center" is planned with five major exhibition areas of service, including a "Themed Exhibition Area" with information on listed and OTC companies, workforce development, career education and diversified employment services, a "Virtual Workplace Experience Activity," a "Correct Career Concepts Educational Theater," and an "Employment Preparation Course Learning Area."
