(Taiwan Business News) The 10th Vision Magazine Corporate Social Responsibility Award has been announced, and FarEasTone Telecommunications stood out with its "Energy-Saving Renovation King" case, winning the Environmental Protection Category Model Award, with General Manager Li Bin receiving the award on its behalf. In promoting energy saving and carbon reduction, FarEasTone has upheld the perseverance and simple dedication of Forrest Gump, remaining unchanged for ten years, advancing step by step and working quietly: internally, it emphasizes "dedicated responsibility," "dedicated personnel," and "dedicated funding," and was the first to introduce international energy-saving standards; externally, it upholds the spirit of "sharing energy-saving knowledge, coexisting in environmental sustainability," does not keep carbon-reduction technical experience to itself, not only joining hands with government agencies to publish books and share energy-saving knowledge, but also using various large and small observation meetings to draw out better ideas, sowing the seeds of green energy saving.
Li Bin, General Manager of FarEasTone Telecommunications and CEO of the Corporate Social Responsibility Committee, said that since 2004 FarEasTone has realized that the operational characteristics of the telecommunications industry are highly dependent on energy, and therefore took early action to promote an energy management plan and establish a dedicated power-saving unit, with management committee members serving at the vice president level, creating a culture in which superiors lead by example and subordinates follow. In addition, FarEasTone allocates a dedicated annual energy-saving budget and has trained 18 government-certified energy management personnel, far exceeding the government's minimum standard. Beyond this, FarEasTone seeks stability rather than speed, steadily improving its energy-saving targets along the way, while closely tying them to its operational core, concretely implementing various energy-saving measures for key targets such as office buildings, computer rooms, base stations, and stores. Over ten years, these efforts have gradually borne fruit, and the headquarters office has cumulatively saved 43% of electricity, an achievement even better than that of a green building.
