Changhua County Purchases New Computers to Strengthen Public Health Services

(Taiwan Business News) The Changhua County Government has procured computers and 24-inch high-resolution LCD large screens, so that every frontline public health nursing colleague has a new computer. Yesterday (the 7th), a press conference titled "New Tools for Public Health Nursing, Easy Health for County Residents" was held. Changhua County Deputy Magistrate Ke Cheng-fang stated that he hopes colleagues will make good use of the new technological tools to handle county residents' health data, epidemic monitoring, reporting, and case management, making the care of county residents' health even easier.
Deputy Magistrate Ke pointed out that, as the saying goes, "To do a good job, one must first sharpen one's tools." He believes that with these new tools, public health nursing staff can greatly reduce the time spent gathering data and making reports. Health stations are the frontline grassroots health units, and public health nursing staff are the vanguard of the nursing profession. Changhua County has a total population of nearly 1.3 million people. Based on the current 147 public health nursing personnel, each public health nursing colleague must serve an average of 8,844 county residents, far exceeding the World Health Organization's recommended standard of one public health nurse serving a population of 2,000. The targets of care range from infants, young children, adolescents, and adults to middle-aged and elderly people, and the scope of services extends from individuals and families to the entire community.
Deputy Magistrate Ke further pointed out that, on the eve of International Nurses Day on May 12, it was an honor to say on behalf of Magistrate Zhuo to all public health nursing colleagues: "Happy Nurses Day!" He also expressed the hope that every public health nursing colleague will uphold love, patience, carefulness, and a sense of responsibility, and be an angel who continues to protect the health of county residents.
At the meeting, Deputy Magistrate Ke also presented nurses with nurse-shaped USB flash drives, which were accepted on behalf of the recipients by Yang Wan-an, head nurse of the Nan-Xi-Bei District Health Station in Changhua City.
