Feed Formulas for Meat Ducks at Each Stage

Meat ducks are ducks raised mainly for meat, and in large-scale farming they are one of the faster-growing varieties. The body's utilization rate and deposition rate of ingested food are not consistent across different growth stages. During rearing, nutrients can be provided as needed according to the body's developmental patterns, and feed stages can be reasonably divided to achieve better economic benefits. Let's take a look below at the feed formulas for meat ducks at each stage!

Duckling Feed Formula (Days 1-25)

1. Feed requirements: refined protein 20%, crude fiber 3.9%, calcium 1.1%, phosphorus 0.5%.

2. Reference formula: corn 40%, rapeseed cake 20%, straw feed 10%, broken rice 10%, wheat bran 10%, fish meal 7.5%, meat meal 7.5%, shell powder 1%, salt 0.5%.

Growing Duck Feed Formula (Days 26-45)

1. Feed requirements: crude protein 17.5%, crude fiber 4.1%, calcium and phosphorus 0.5%.

2. Reference formula: corn 30%, rapeseed cake 5%, straw feed 20%, broken rice 10%, wheat bran 12%, fish meal 4.5%, shell powder 1%, salt 0.5%, barley (or wheat) 17%.

Fattening Period Feed Formula for Meat Ducks

1. Formula one: early stage corn 35%, flour 26.5%, straw feed 30%, beans (roasted) 5%, shell powder 2%, bone meal 1%, salt 0.5%; late stage corn 35%, flour 30%, straw feed 25%, sorghum 6.5%, shell powder 2%, bone meal 1%, salt 0.5%.

2. Formula two: corn 35%, flour 26.5%, straw feed 25%, sorghum 10%, shell powder 2%, bone meal 1%, salt 0.5%.

Note: Although meat ducks do not have high requirements for feed palatability, they prefer pelleted feed and dislike feed that is too fine or pasty. At the same time, feed intake decreases as temperature rises, so in summer and autumn the daily ration formula should be adjusted to ensure the growth needs of meat ducks. Therefore, when formulating feed for meat ducks, we should pay attention to these issues.
