What are the ways to increase ducks' egg production?

Quality of high-yielding breeder ducks
First, choose duck breeds that are highly adaptable, high-yielding and suited to local conditions; second, try to raise young breeder ducks and spring ducks, because the older they get, the less they lay, while spring ducks generally develop better, have a longer laying period and higher egg production. In addition, you should understand the laying patterns of each breed and give full play to the breed's advantages.
Improve feeding conditions
Production practice has shown that duck flocks kept under semi-housing and housing systems lay more eggs than those kept under grazing management, and this is inseparable from improved feed, feeding methods, a stable microclimate and directed breeding. Because unnecessary activity is reduced, energy consumption is also reduced, and the use of compound feed in particular can meet the laying nutritional needs of female ducks.
Supplement feed in time
Before the duck flock begins laying, you must promptly add egg-stimulating feed. When the laying rate shows a downward trend after the start of laying, you should also add feed promptly to extend the duration of laying.
Prepare well for egg collection
Spreading litter in the duck house is an important measure for keeping it dry, and short-cut rice straw is best. In addition, pile rice straw one chi high around the duck house, to be used exclusively by the flock for laying. However, because a few female ducks lay late, opening the shed too early will inevitably cause eggs to be laid outside the shed or in the river and lost.
Prevent flock panic
The egg production of a startled duck flock can drop by 5%-30%. Dim light should be provided throughout the night, and once the flock panics, it must be quickly brought under control while the cause is identified.
Supplement light artificially
Two sets of lighting equipment should be installed in the duck house: one part with weaker light, to be used when the flock is resting; one part with strong light, to be used for feeding and stimulating activity. When the light period reaches 16 hours per day, egg production increases significantly.
