Taipei City Trail Concert Debuts on Mother's Day

(Taiwan Business News) The Taipei City Geotechnical Engineering Office's Nature Hiking series of events is about to kick off this week. This year, it specially combines ecological guided tours with musical appreciation, holding the first-ever "Taipei Nature Hiking Trail Concert." On the warm occasion of Mother's Day, everyone is invited to hold their mother's hand, enjoy the mountains together, and listen to the melodious notes of the natural forest.

Huang Li-yuan, Director of the Geotechnical Engineering Office, said that the first concert will begin at 10 a.m. on May 10 at the waterside pavilion beside the "Hushan Creek Trail" in Xinyi District. Performers scheduled to take the stage include the "Xiao Sheng Di Yun Orchestra" from Xinyi Community College, the Fude Elementary School Percussion Ensemble, and clarinetist Ms. Lin Yan-fang, among others. They are all local music performance groups or interpretive teachers from the Nature Trail Association. It is hoped that through the melodious music, nature hikers can obtain great satisfaction of body, mind, and spirit amid the verdant mountain forest surroundings.

Xia Xian-tong, Section Chief of the Roads and Trails Section of the Geotechnical Engineering Office, said that the "Taipei Nature Hiking Trail Concert" is open for the public to participate freely, and everyone is welcome to bring their hardworking mothers for a musical feast. At the same time, the nearby Beixing Temple Trail will also hold the "Century-Old Trail Beixing Rises" ecological guided tour starting at 8 a.m. Under the lively guidance of professional interpretive teachers from the Republic of China Nature Trail Association, participants can recall the pioneering spirit of their ancestors on the old trail and experience its rich and diverse ecology.

Chen Yan-cheng, Senior Engineering Officer of the Roads and Trails Section, also welcomes fellow hiking enthusiasts on the trails to join the guided tour. Through the teachers' carefully designed activities, everyone will be led to read the beautiful mountain forest. The event accepts online registration until spaces are full, and families and parents with children are welcome to attend.
