Cathay Securities teams up with Children with Down Syndrome for a happy Mother's Day charity sale!

(Taiwan Business News) As the warm, flower-filled Mother's Day in May approaches, Cathay Securities and the Children with Down Syndrome Foundation jointly held the "Children with Down Syndrome Mother's Day Cake Charity Sale," which drew an enthusiastic response. In just two days during the lunch break, more than 2,000 items of assorted bread and cake were sold, leaving the foundation's partners smiling from ear to ear, surrounded by a rich atmosphere of happiness.
Cathay Securities General Manager Chuang Shun-yu said that rather than saying we helped the children with Down syndrome, it is more accurate to say they let us experience the true meaning of finding joy in helping others. These children are the good energy of society; they kneaded love into these delicious pastries with their own hands, so that we taste it in our mouths and feel warmth in our hearts, sharing in their good fortune.
Hu Yu-fang, director of the Public Affairs Department of the Children with Down Syndrome Foundation, said that although intellectual disability is, to ordinary people, a flaw in life for children with Down syndrome, appropriate baking training enables them to support themselves and also reduces the cost of care borne by the government and the public. She also thanked all colleagues at Cathay Securities for thinking of these lovely children and supporting them on the eve of Mother's Day.
Chang Hui-yen, manager of the Minsheng store of the Children with Down Syndrome Bakery House, said that the proceeds from this charity sale were eight times what they had usually raised from charity sales they had taken part in. They had never seen so many enthusiastic smiles and so much support, and this was the best Mother's Day gift Cathay Securities could give them.
Just as the backdrop on the day of the event read: "Every year, a group of little suns use their hands to decorate happiness at this festival, and to decorate their own future. Their cakes may not be very beautiful, and the taste may not be very special, but... every cake carries their full blessings and heartfelt care." Through the brief two-day charity sale, Cathay Securities hoped to spread love and bring more happiness and touching moments to society.
