Control Methods and Technical Key Points for Hemorrhagic Disease in Rice Field Eels

Hemorrhagic disease in rice field eels is caused by Gram-negative, single-flagellated Aeromonas bacteria, and there are also secondary hemorrhagic disease and enteritis caused by parasite infestation. Let us take a look below at the symptoms and treatment methods of hemorrhagic disease in rice field eel farming!
Onset Time of Hemorrhagic Disease in Rice Field Eels
It generally occurs in the warmer seasons from May to September, with a high incidence rate, and is one of the more serious diseases.
Symptoms of Hemorrhagic Disease in Rice Field Eels
Eels suffering from hemorrhagic disease show varying degrees of congestion in various parts of the body as the disease progresses. The gills, liver, and kidneys of sick eels have bleeding points, and the abdominal cavity and intestinal tract accumulate pale yellow transparent or red fluid.
1. Acute type: The thoracic and abdominal cavities contain more blood and mucus mixture, the heart and rectum are congested, and the endocardium has a small number of sesame-sized bleeding points;
2. Subacute type: The thoracic and abdominal cavities are filled with a mixture of purplish-black blood and mucus, in greater quantity than the acute type; the liver has mung bean-sized hemorrhagic spots, the liver is swollen and pale in color, and the rectal mucosa shows pinpoint bleeding, etc.;
3. Chronic type: The thoracic and abdominal cavities are filled with a mixture of purplish-black blood and mucus, the liver is enlarged, with mung bean-sized bleeding points. Individual areas have mung bean-sized necrotic blood spots. The mucosa of the small intestine and rectum shows diffuse hemorrhage. Since there are hemorrhagic symptoms from the skin to all organs, especially severe liver damage, this indicates that Aeromonas produces a certain amount of toxins, so it is called hemorrhagic septicemia of rice field eels.
Preventive Measures for Hemorrhagic Disease in Rice Field Eels
Regularly use chlorine dioxide effervescent tablets at 5-8 tablets per cage, or highly effective detoxifying water purification agent at 2-3 mu per bag for water quality regulation, once every 15-20 days.
Treatment Plan for Hemorrhagic Disease in Rice Field Eels
1. External use: On the first day, use gold iodine or concentrated glutaraldehyde at 50 cages per bottle for external application; on the second day, use the new generation Baoxuekang at 20-30 cages per bottle for external application; on the third day, use Zhixueling at 50 cages per bottle. The effect is remarkable.
2. Oral administration: Add 100g of florfenicol or Huangshan Chuxuekang + 100g of Zhixuesan + 100g of Huangshan multivitamin or Golden Partner + 100g of Jiedu Yingji Wang per 50 kg of feed (including fish paste), once a day, mixed with bait and fed continuously for 3-5 times.
