What Feed Do Loaches Eat? A Full Analysis of Feeding Techniques

What do loaches eat? Loaches are small omnivorous fish with a very wide range of feed sources. Water fleas, earthworms, fly maggots and similar organisms are natural prey for loaches, and under artificial farming conditions they can be fed rice bran, soybean cake, soybean dregs, blood meal, wheat bran and so on.
How much should you feed? The food intake of loaches is closely related to water temperature. In March, the daily feeding amount is 1% of the total body weight of the loaches; from April to June, the daily feeding amount is 4% of the total body weight of the loaches; from July to August, the daily feeding amount is 1% of the total body weight of the loaches; and from September to October, the daily feeding amount is 4% of the total body weight of the loaches.
What is the feeding method? Build a feed platform in the loach pond and place the feed on the platform. The feed must be fresh, free of pollution, free of rot and free of spoilage. Feeding is generally done at around 9 a.m., and the feeding amount should be based on the loaches finishing the feed within 3 to 4 hours. During the adult loach stage, the feed amount should be adjusted appropriately according to weather conditions and the growth and feeding conditions of the loaches. Leftover bait should be removed promptly.
