Bank of Taiwan's 68th Anniversary Celebration: Mountain Hiking to Protect the Environment

(Taiwan Business News) To celebrate its 68th anniversary, Bank of Taiwan has specially planned a series of meaningful activities including music and arts, charity sales, and environmental protection, in order to fulfill its corporate social responsibility (CSR). Among them, in response to drastic global climate change and to promote the concept of caring for the environment, on May 24, 2014, an environmental hiking activity for employees and their families was held in the afternoon at the Tianmu Old Trail Mountain Hiking Trail. In addition to deepening the camaraderie among colleagues, boosting work morale, and strengthening cohesion, it also encouraged colleagues and their families to practice environmental protection at every turn, making the environment we live in cleaner and life better.

The Tianmu Old Trail Mountain Hiking Trail is about 2.6 km long, located on the west side of the Qixing Mountain range in Shilin District, at the saddle south of Shamao Mountain. It is a branch line of the rear section of the early Yu Road Old Trail. The trail was built along a large water pipe, and clear streams and primitive forest can be seen everywhere. Walking along it feels especially cool and comfortable. The Tianmu Old Trail was once an important connecting route between Jinshan and Tianmu. Since the opening of Yangde Boulevard, it has become a veritable old trail, and it is a popular hiking route in recent years, making it an excellent spot for the public to hike, enjoy the scenery, and savor a forest bath.

The activity began at 9 a.m. that day, with the bank's Chairman Lee Chi-chu and President Hsiao Chang-jui leading the enthusiastically participating colleagues and their families from the Tianmu Old Trail water pipe trailhead, heading up along the water pipe trail. Although there were many steps, the dense shade along the way, beautiful scenery, and fresh air were refreshing and delightful, and one could also hear the murmuring of flowing water and the songs of birds and insects. Along the way, the mountain walls were moist, plants grew densely, and the area was full of rich ecology. After leaving the trail, they turned onto Aifu 3rd Street and finally arrived at the destination - the bank's Shanzihou Employee Training Institute.

For many years, Bank of Taiwan has held mountain hiking during its anniversary period in May, encouraging colleagues and their families to go outdoors, engage in activities beneficial to body and mind, and at the same time implement environmental protection to make the surrounding environment cleaner. It is a highly meaningful activity. With the active participation of colleagues and their families, Bank of Taiwan has fully achieved the positive significance of hiking and fitness, as well as practicing environmental protection at every turn.
