Prevention and treatment methods for crab edema disease

Crab edema disease is mostly caused by infection with pathogenic bacteria after mechanical injury to the abdomen. In affected crabs, the abdomen, abdominal flap and the area under the shell become swollen and translucent; river crabs crawl along the pond edge, stop feeding, and eventually die of the disease.

Prevention and treatment methods for crab edema disease

For each kilogram of crab, take 0.1-0.2 g of oxytetracycline or erythromycin and mix it into the bait for feeding, with 7 days as one treatment course; or splash a 0.5-1 mg/kg nitrofurazone solution over the whole pond.
