Reasons crabs try to escape

During farming, crabs will flee their original waters and move toward a suitable environment because of increased waste matter in the water, a drop in the water's pH value, water temperatures that are too high in summer, water temperatures that are too low in winter, and so on.

In artificial farming situations, crabs may escape because they go hungry when feeding is not done in time, for example while searching for food.

Crabs are very sensitive to stimulation from light and water currents. At night, when crabs see light, they will move toward it and escape. Adult crabs will go downstream, drifting with the current; young crabs will go upstream against it.

When crab-eating animals such as rats and crayfish increase in the waters, when livestock and poultry disturb them, and when people catch them by hand, crabs will naturally avoid these and head toward a safe place.
