What are the common natural enemies of the black guinea pig?

The black guinea pig is a small guinea pig native to South America, also known as the Dutch pig, wild mountain pig, Dutch rat, and guinea pig. Because its whole body is black, it is called the black guinea pig. Do you know what its natural enemies are? The main natural enemies of the black guinea pig are rats, dogs, snakes, weasels, and cats. Let's take a look below!
1. Rats: They bite and injure or bite to death young guinea pigs and spread pathogens, so rats must be prevented. Control methods: poisoning, trapping, or installing electric cat traps. Add wire mesh to doors and windows. On indoor walls, use 50 cm wide plastic sheeting, pressed at the top with wooden strips or bamboo pieces and nailed firmly. After rats enter the room, they cannot climb up, and they can be caught after several rounds of trapping.
2. Dogs: Dogs like to bite black guinea pigs, so dogs must be prevented from entering. Guard dogs should be trained so they do not bite the guinea pigs.
3. Snakes: In mountainous areas, black guinea pig sheds must be protected against snakes entering, as snakes bite and eat black guinea pigs.
4. Weasels: Weasels prey on black guinea pigs and cause serious harm, so special precautions are needed.
5. Cats: Generally, domestic cats kept at home will not harm black guinea pigs, but some with a strong wild nature, or stray cats outdoors, will harm black guinea pigs, so precautions should be taken.
