Shin Kong National Children's Painting Competition begins accepting submissions starting June 3

(Taiwan Business News) Is there anything better than traveling? On a sunny, beautiful day, Grandpa and Grandma take their precious grandchild by the hand, and on this journey hand in hand, the whole family's hearts draw closer together. The annual Shin Kong National Children's Painting Competition, co-organized by Shin Kong Life Insurance, Shin Kong Bank and the Shin Kong Bank Cultural and Educational Foundation, is officially underway. This year (2014), the theme is "Traveling with Grandpa and Grandma," encouraging schoolchildren to share travel memories with their families and vividly bring to life on paper the scenes of leisurely, wonderful times spent with their grandparents. All students currently enrolled in kindergarten or elementary school may take part in this activity, and the first-place winner can receive a scholarship of 5,000 yuan.
Shin Kong Enterprises has long paid attention to age-friendly issues and hopes that grandparents everywhere can live healthy and happy lives, using children's unrestrained, lively creativity to record every unforgettable travel moment. This year's (2014) competition is divided into three groups: the Creative Coloring Group for kindergarten students, the Creative Painting Group for upper, middle and lower elementary school grades, and the "Intellectual Disability Group" added starting in 2010, which encourages elementary school children with autism and intellectual disabilities to pick up their paintbrushes and show off their artistic talent. The top three places can receive scholarships and medals, and several hundred Honorable Mention and Merit Awards will also be given. The submission period runs from June 3 (Tue.) to July 15 (Tue.). Works may be submitted at branch locations of Shin Kong Life Insurance and Shin Kong Bank. Those who submit their works in person can receive one exquisite gift, while supplies last.
