Schoolchildren experience riding the bus, learning through fun in Kaohsiung City

(Taiwan Business News) The Kaohsiung City Government is actively promoting the "Schoolchildren Bus Experience" activity. On the 11th, Transportation Bureau Director Chen Jinfu led students from Xinyi Elementary School on a bus ride to the Pier-2 Art Center, explaining along the way concepts such as public transportation, traffic safety and environmental protection, and teaching the students how to use mass transit, so as to cultivate the habit of taking mass transit.
The Kaohsiung City Transportation Bureau plans to hold 300 "Schoolchildren Bus Experience" off-campus teaching activities with elementary and junior high schools this year. On the morning of the 11th, third-grade children from Xinyi Elementary School took Route 248 bus to the Pier-2 Art Center for off-campus teaching.
Three handsome men and beautiful women from the Ethics Office of the Kaohsiung City Transportation Bureau kicked off the event, performing in the classroom a lively and vivid skit titled "Grandma~~ loves to be pretty but also loves to follow the rules!" to promote the idea that grandmothers picking up and dropping off their grandchildren from school should also pay attention to traffic safety, as well as integrity-rooted education, drawing constant gasps and laughter from the schoolchildren.
Kaohsiung City Transportation Bureau Director Chen Jinfu, Kaohsiung City Education Bureau Deputy Director Wang Jinyan and iPASS Corporation General Manager Zhang Xiuqi personally interacted with the children at the bus stop, letting the schoolchildren know how to look up bus routes and arrival and departure times, so that in the future they can bring their families along to experience the comfort and fun of riding the bus.
iPASS Corporation, for its part, made exclusive bus experience cards for the participating schools. General Manager Zhang Xiuqi also took the opportunity to explain to the children that holding an iPASS card is very convenient and offers discounts for transportation and shopping, and that holding an iPASS card allows free rides on city buses, saving energy and reducing carbon.
This activity combined off-campus teaching and included traffic safety promotion, public bicycle rental and environmental protection concept promotion, as well as professional guided tours of the Harbor History Museum and the Pier-2 Art Center, making it quite educational for the schoolchildren.
