Plants whose leaves root as soon as they touch soil: the more diligent you are, the easier you kill them; the more you ignore them, the more they fill the pot

Sometimes growing flowers calls for a lazy approach. Some plants get killed precisely because their owner is too diligent, for example watering too often, always moving them around, and so on. Sometimes pampering flowers too much is not a good thing.
This flower is highly recommended to grow; it really is especially suitable for lazy people, and being too diligent actually makes it grow poorly. Its name is Dongmeiren, also called Dongmeiren (Pachyveria 'Clavifolia'), a succulent of the Crassulaceae family. Plump and fleshy, it is both easy to grow and good-looking.
Dongmeiren needs hardly any care at all. Its leaves can be dropped into soil and will propagate into a whole patch. Besides its thick fleshy leaves, it can also bloom, flowering in summer, with high ornamental value and well worth growing.
Care essentials
1. As a succulent, Dongmeiren, like ordinary succulents, likes loose, breathable soil with good drainage. For potted plants, it is recommended to mix some coal cinders into the soil for better water permeability and root development.
2. Water normally by the "dry-wet cycle" rule; when watering, it is best to water after the soil surface has dried. Never let water accumulate. Keep the soil slightly dry at ordinary times. It is fairly drought-tolerant, so being a bit short of water now and then is no problem.
3. Dongmeiren has no obvious dormant period all year round. It likes a warm, dry environment with plenty of sunlight; even in summer it can take full sun and is not afraid of being sunburned. Moreover, in environments with a large temperature difference and long sunshine hours, its leaves turn pink.
4. After Dongmeiren has grown for a while, its branches become less attractive than before. At this point you can prune it appropriately, and the cut-off leaves can be used to propagate new potted plants.
Note that summer is relatively hot and humid, so be sure to do a good job of ventilation. Also, when watering, take care not to wash off the white powdery coating on its leaves.
In any case, potted Dongmeiren really is quite easy to grow. Flower lovers who love growing flowers but fear killing them should not miss out. Of course, you can also go ask for a few leaves and propagate them yourself!
