Warm-water swimming pool opens, good news for Taixi Township residents

(Taiwan Business News) The warm-water swimming pool at Taixi Junior High School, long awaited by coastal residents, was officially inaugurated on the 30th with a plaque-unveiling ceremony personally presided over by County Magistrate Su Chih-fen. Coastal residents now have another great leisure destination, and a new milestone has been marked in Yunlin County's promotion of swimming instruction and sports!
In her speech, Yunlin County Magistrate Su Chih-fen said that when the county government initially planned to build a warm-water swimming pool in Taixi, several aspects were taken into consideration. Every year after October, the northeast monsoon ravages the Taixi coast, causing considerable inconvenience for residents' outdoor exercise. An indoor warm-water swimming pool would certainly provide students and residents with a space for exercise. In addition, it could train students in water activity skills, so that in the future they could both enjoy leisure at the beach and save lives. She hoped everyone would make good use of it and take care of it, so that the swimming pool could serve its maximum function.
Taixi Junior High School Principal Chen Chao-lung also said that the opening of the warm-water swimming pool at Taixi Junior High School could be described as having gone through many difficulties! Although the hardware construction had been completed, changes in electricity installation regulations delayed the power supply schedule. Furthermore, the recruitment of pool personnel involved personnel and funding issues that, with no precedent to follow, required all matters to be resolved through lawful negotiation and coordination. Taixi Junior High School is located in a remote area, so the selection of lifeguards and administrators truly required great effort. The most difficult part was balancing teaching effectiveness with meeting the needs of local residents.
The pressure borne by the administrative team of Taixi Junior High School during this period was truly self-evident! Principal Chen Chao-lung said that Taixi Junior High School would adopt a "proactive and dedicated" attitude and approach, not only to get the Taixi Junior High School warm-water swimming pool "swimming" but also to make it "come alive," thereby driving swimming education in the coastal area. At the same time, it would cooperate with the fire department and the health center to strengthen water safety advocacy, and in the future it could also become a training venue for water safety and lifesaving drills.
