Relaxing rides along the riverside waterfront: New Taipei City widens bike lanes

(Taiwan Business News) Following the improvement of the Bali Left Bank bicycle path, the High Floodplain Engineering Management Office of the New Taipei City Government then carried out widening of the riverside bicycle path from the Guangfu Pumping Station in Banqiao District through Zhonghe District to the Yonghe Horizontal Transfer Gate in Yonghe District in the first half of this year. It is now fully open for public use, and residents are welcome to make use of it.
The project began on February 13 of this year, lasted about 4 months, and was completed on June 20. After widening, the overall road width was increased from 3 m to 4 m. Once this widened section is combined with the riverside bicycle paths already widened in the 100th and 101st years of the Republic of China at Green Light Riverside Park and Emerald Sports Park, and in the 102nd year of the Republic of China from Huajiang Bridge to Guangfu Pumping Station, it not only forms a continuous belt-like waterfront bicycle path but also becomes a more comfortable, attractive and convenient leisure space.
In order to provide residents with a higher-quality riverside recreation space, the New Taipei City Government is adopting a year-by-year renovation approach and is committed to widening the existing riverside bicycle paths into separate lanes for bicycles and pedestrians. This not only maintains the original two-way bicycle passage function but also adds pedestrian walkways, allowing residents to ride with peace of mind along the city's waterfront. Residents are welcome to come and enjoy the free and easy thrill of chasing the wind.
