New Large-Screen iPhone Reportedly to Be Unveiled on 9/9

Re/code reported today that Apple Inc. has scheduled a launch event for September 9, where it will introduce the large-screen iPhone that fans have long awaited.
Rumors about Apple's new phone have been swirling for weeks, but this is the first time a media outlet has reported a specific launch date.
Agence France-Presse reported that Apple Inc. had no immediate comment on the report.
Re/code said the September 9 event will unveil Apple's next-generation iPhone, with screen sizes of 4.7 inches and 5.5 inches and a faster processor.
Bloomberg reported that Apple Inc. hinted on the 22nd of last month that buyers' long wait for new Apple products was about to end.
With larger-screen phones in development, Apple noted that consumers are currently delaying purchases of new iPhones, which could affect sales results for the quarter ending in September.
However, rather than putting buyers off by delaying the launch, Apple used a conference call to build up consumer anticipation for new products, with CEO Tim Cook saying during the call, "we can't wait to show you the amazing product line," and CFO Luca Maestri describing a "very busy fall."
The iPhone accounts for more than half of Apple's revenue and about 70% of its total profit.
People familiar with the matter said Apple will launch new iPhones with 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch screens. Some analysts expect these to be Apple's best-selling products since the iPhone debuted in 2007. 1030806
