Taiwan Excellence Exhibition Makes a Splendid Debut in London

(Taiwan Business News) The Taiwan Excellence Exhibition, organized by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) under the commission of the Bureau of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, opened in London yesterday, featuring 51 companies including D-Link and HTC, showcasing more than 150 products that won this year's Taiwan Excellence Awards, with high-quality and user-friendly designs that won praise from visitors.
Lu Wen-jui, director of the Taiwan Trade Center in London, said this was the second time the center has held the Taiwan Excellence Exhibition in London. Compared with the scale of the first exhibition during the 2012 London Olympics, the number of participating companies and products has doubled, because London is an important international city and also an important springboard into new markets. Taiwan has many excellent products, but British consumers do not know about them. It is hoped that through this exhibition, they can be introduced and promoted to British consumers, so that MIT products can be integrated into their lives.
Lu Wen-jui said that Taiwan is the third-largest country exporting goods to the UK, after mainland China and Japan. Last year, Taiwan's total exports to the UK reached 5.4 billion US dollars. The products exhibited this time include bicycles, electronic information products, medical equipment and personalized high-tech products. These products are not only used in industry and commerce, but can also be applied in daily life, and are well suited to the needs of the British market.
Before the exhibition opened on the 3rd at the well-known Westfield Shepherd Bush shopping center in central London, the Taiwan Trade Center first held a press conference, inviting major British technology and consumer reporters to attend and experience the products, and invited the well-known British comedian Tom Scott to serve as host, arranging members of the London Royal Philharmonic Orchestra to perform well-known Taiwanese songs such as "High Mountain Green" and "Longing for the Spring Breeze" live, making the scene very lively.
Representative to the UK Liu Chih-kung said that the UK is an important trading partner of Taiwan, with bilateral trade volume reaching 7.31 billion US dollars last year. The UK is Taiwan's third-largest trading partner in Europe, and Taiwan is the UK's ninth-largest market in Asia. The Taiwanese award-winning excellent products exhibited this time all have outstanding performance in research and development, design, quality and marketing, and more importantly, they are all Made in Taiwan.
