The market price of agarwood

Agarwood is mainly distributed in Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, Fujian and other provinces and regions. Among the "four fragrant woods" - agarwood, sandalwood, dragon's blood and musk - agarwood ranks first. High-quality agarwood takes decades or even over a hundred years to form, its output is extremely small, and the market demand exceeds supply, so its price is several times or even dozens of times that of gold. Let's take a look at the market price of agarwood below!

Reference table of agarwood market prices

Specification and price: Kynam costs 50,000-80,000 per gram; the finest grade comes from Nha Trang, Vietnam, and a Kynam bead bracelet with a diameter of 1.6 cm is currently priced at 2.6 million. Indonesian agarwood costs several thousand yuan per gram, with bead bracelets ranging from several thousand to several hundred thousand, and dried material at 60 yuan/gram. A floating agarwood 108-bead Buddhist rosary with a diameter of less than 1 cm costs around 30,000. Sinking agarwood powder costs between 5,000 and 8,000 yuan per gram, and a 108-bead rosary costs at least around 300,000 to 400,000 yuan.

In fact, 80% of the agarwood on the market is counterfeit. Although genuine agarwood has many places of origin, most sources have already been exhausted. The price gaps between dried material and powder, and between raw wood and handicrafts, are all very large!

Common types of agarwood products

1. Incense sticks: common straight-shaped incense, which can be further divided into "standing incense" burned vertically, "lying incense" burned horizontally, "bamboo-core incense" with a bamboo or wooden core, and so on.

2. Coil incense: also called ring incense, incense coiled in a spiral shape, which can be hung up or supported on a stand for burning. Some small coil incense can also be placed directly flat in an incense burner.

3. Incense powder: also called powdered incense, a powdered form of incense that requires the use of certain incense utensils when used.

4. Buddhist rosary: originally called a chanting bead string, originating from the names of the Three Jewels - Buddha, Dharma and Sangha - and used to eliminate the hindrances of affliction and karmic retribution. It can usually be divided into three types: holding beads, wearing beads and hanging beads. The number of beads in each rosary symbolizes different meanings.

5. Pendants, accessories, ornaments, etc.: agarwood material itself is already hard to come by, and turning it into artworks means it can be handled and enjoyed at any time and also has good artistic collectible value.
