The education divisions stationed overseas by the Ministry of Education, in addition to carrying the mission of promoting academic and educational exchanges abroad, also actively fulfill the task of serving our country's overseas students. The Education Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in New York has recently been successively organizing various presentation events and joint exhibitions, building a stage for overseas students to showcase Taiwan to the world. In conjunction with New York Fashion Week, the Education Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in New York invited 28 Taiwanese overseas students studying fashion-related fields in the greater New York area and beyond to hold a unique "2015 New York Taiwan Design Emerging Fashion Show" (2015 Taiwanese Students/ Young Talents Fashion Show/ Exhibition) at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in New York.

The opening reception and fashion runway show of the "2015 New York Taiwan Design Emerging Fashion Show" attracted more than 200 designers, fashion industry figures and overseas Chinese community members from the greater New York area. Guests in attendance eagerly watched the works of emerging designers on the runway. On site, 26 models from various countries showcased 68 sets of distinctive fashion creations by 12 Taiwanese overseas student designers, plus a fashion runway show by 11 mystery guests, making it extremely spectacular. It transformed the usually serious and solemn office of an overseas mission into a New York fashion runway overnight, becoming the focus of the fashion spotlight.

The "2015 New York Taiwan Design Emerging Fashion Show" included a dynamic fashion design runway show and a static works exhibition. The 12 designers in the fashion design runway show included Taiwanese overseas students from New York's Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), Pratt Institute, Academy of Art University in San Francisco, Parsons The New School for Design in New York, and UC Davis. Participants in the static exhibition included those from the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), Parsons The New School for Design, Pratt Institute, and young designers.

At the opening reception of the "2015 New York Taiwan Design Emerging Fashion Show," Ambassador Zhang Wenliang of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in New York highly praised the performance of Taiwan's emerging designers. American designer Malan Breton also expressed strong recognition of Taiwan's emerging designers. In his speech, he said: "It is hard to imagine that these wonderful designs come from students. They have unique styles, are creative, and are full of development potential. This kind of fashion show is of great help to them and should be held regularly."

Ana Bianchi, president of Paper Girl Collection, also expressed great admiration for the works of young Taiwanese designers. Seeing the packed venue and constant applause from the guests, Peng Anjie, convener of the runway show group and currently studying at New York's Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), excitedly thanked the office for providing them with such a wonderful stage. Distinguished guests and celebrities from all walks of life in the greater New York area also participated in the fashion runway event to support Taiwanese overseas students, each presenting the imagery of a spring theme through creative clothing pairings, making the venue lively and colorful.

The Education Division in New York planned and organized the "2015 New York Taiwan Design Emerging Fashion Show" this time precisely to enable Taiwanese overseas students and young designers in the field of fashion design to showcase Taiwan's creativity and ingenuity in fashion design to New York, the leading "global fashion capital," and to let New York's fashion industry see the talent and brilliance of Taiwan's emerging fashion designers.
