Taiwan Cloud Valley Cloud Leopard Incubation Launches the Cloud Leopard No. 1 Dream Workshop
(Taiwan Business News) With the rapid development of the global cloud, big data and Internet of Things, in order to strengthen the competitiveness of Taiwan's cloud startups, the Taiwan Cloud Computing Industry Association held on the 7th the "3rd Taiwan Cloud Valley Cloud Leopard Incubation and Cloud Leopard No. 1 Dream Workshop Launch Ceremony." The heads of three major bureaus - the Industrial Development Bureau, the Small and Medium Enterprise Administration, and the Department of Industrial Technology of the Ministry of Economic Affairs - explained from different government perspectives the entrepreneurial advantages of Taiwan's "software-hardware integration" resources, helping more startups rapidly validate creative ideas, develop their ideas into products with market competitiveness, launch them into the market and move toward the international stage.
Chang San-cheng, Vice Premier of the Executive Yuan, stated that "Taiwan Cloud Valley Cloud Leopard Incubation" has now entered its third year. With its original "big guiding small" entrepreneurial model, it successfully attracted the participation of more than 150 startup companies over the past two years and has been well received by Taiwan's young entrepreneurs. This year it further established the "Cloud Leopard No. 1 Dream Workshop," incorporating Taiwan's unique hardware manufacturing advantages to help startups rapidly validate creative products, convert creativity into its due market value, and accelerate business opportunities in the entrepreneurial market.
"Taiwan Cloud Valley Cloud Leopard Incubation" brings together technology, investment and market opportunities, expanding into a "startup ecosystem" and becoming a model for Taiwan's entrepreneurial incubation. In the future, it is hoped that it will continue to lead more startup teams, small and medium-sized enterprises and major corporate resources to join, sustaining Taiwan's entrepreneurial boom.
Lee Shih-chin, Chairman of the Taiwan Cloud Computing Industry Association and Chairman of Inventec, pointed out that if Taiwan's entrepreneurs can leverage their abundant "software" innovation capabilities on top of Taiwan's existing strengths in "hardware" design and manufacturing, they will be able to successfully develop original products with international competitiveness.
In view of this, the Taiwan Cloud Computing Industry Association this year integrated the hardware resources of its members and began planning to provide the fully equipped "Cloud Leopard No. 1 Dream Workshop," serving as the midwife that puts zero-to-one into practice, creating for participating teams the first workspace where they can build mass-producible prototypes and validate creative products. It provides high-end equipment for electrical work, exterior mechanisms and measurement validation, enabling entrepreneurs to turn creativity into valuable innovation, quickly pass through trial production and small-batch production, and, with the help of the business networks of the corporate mentor team, assist in promoting entrepreneurs' products to the international market, strengthening the investment value of startup companies.
Chueh Chih-ke, Secretary-General of the Cloud Association and Director of the Information and Communications Research Laboratories of ITRI, stated that "Cloud Leopard Incubation" has so far successfully matched 24 startup companies with the Cloud Association's corporate mentors to become business partners, and has created an investment and additional investment amount of 570 million. This year, with the establishment of the "Cloud Leopard No. 1 Dream Workshop," it has officially transformed into a software-hardware integration accelerator.
This year's corporate mentor group includes 13 companies and legal entities: ITRI, III, Chunghwa Telecom, Taiwan Mobile, Far EasTone Telecommunications, Delta Electronics, Inventec, Syscom Computer, Hwacom Systems, Hon Hai, HannStar Display, Dell and D-Link, forming a strong lineup. In addition to receiving exclusive coaching from Taiwan's benchmark enterprises and accurately realizing dream products that can be mass-produced, participating teams also have the chance to compete for investment contracts and a prize of one million. Teams interested in registering are welcome to apply to the Cloud Association before April 30.
