Far Eastern Air Transport to co-organize Penghu Marathon; Penghu County Magistrate Chen Kuang-fu hopes to boost tourism

After recently sponsoring a fireworks festival evening gala, Far Eastern Air Transport once again expressed its plan to cooperate with the Penghu County Government to promote tourism. Chairman Chang Kang-wei, accompanied by Chief Operating Officer Zeng Jin-chi, visited the county government on the morning of the 23rd to call on Penghu County Magistrate Chen Kuang-fu and discuss matters related to co-organizing the Penghu Marathon. Chen Kuang-fu expressed gratitude for Far Eastern Air Transport's active efforts to promote tourism, and looked forward to expanding a larger tourism market and business opportunities through the two sides' full cooperation.

The Penghu Marathon, held every November, attracts thousands of people to come and race against the wind, among them many international marathon runners who sign up to take part. Penghu County Magistrate Chen Kuang-fu said he welcomed Far Eastern Air Transport to join the marathon ranks this year and work together on event marketing, promotion, public relations and entertainment, hoping that even more people will cross the sea to compete against the wind and bring their families along to have fun in Penghu.

As a native son of Penghu, Chang Kang-wei has spared no effort in helping his hometown develop tourism. This time, in cooperating with the county government to hold the Penghu Marathon, he further hoped to make the event as joyful as the Honolulu Marathon. He said professional advertising and public relations would be hired to strengthen promotion and marketing, and dozens of flight attendants would be invited to take part in the road race to boost popularity; additional flights would also be scheduled at that time to solve transportation problems.

In addition to thanking Far Eastern Air Transport for co-organizing the Penghu Marathon, Penghu County Magistrate Chen Kuang-fu also thanked them for fully assisting the county government in promoting tourism and actively advancing direct flight routes with various international cities. Chang Kang-wei noted that Far Eastern Air Transport would also purchase new aircraft next year, expected to join the offshore island transport capacity and direct flight ranks. In response, Chen Kuang-fu said he hoped that through cooperation between both sides, they could jointly open a new page for Penghu tourism, drive Penghu's tourism to take off, and build a more stable customer base to invigorate the local tourism industry.

Those accompanying the visit included Director of Education Cheng Chia-wei, Director of Tourism Chen Mei-ling, and Penghu County Sports Federation Secretary-General Yeh Kuan-nan, among others, who fully discussed and broadly exchanged views on co-organizing the Penghu Marathon and tourism development matters.
