That day my neighbor Aunt Zhang came to my house to borrow a spray bottle, and saw that the leaves of the lucky bamboo I was growing in water were as yellow as bananas, and asked me why I did not do something about it. I said aggrievedly, I want to do something too, but it is about to die, and I am afraid it cannot be saved. Aunt Zhang went home and brought me 3 things, and within half a month the lucky bamboo looked like it had just been bought.

For lucky bamboo, most flower growers always grow it in water, and lucky bamboo grown in water often develops the corresponding symptom of yellowing leaves.

There are only two situations when the leaves of water-grown lucky bamboo turn yellow: for lucky bamboo that has not rooted, if it is kept at home, the leaves will definitely turn yellow. Because it has not yet rooted, the water and nutrients it absorbs are very little, while the air inside the home is often especially too dry, and the water in the leaves evaporates relatively quickly, which creates a contradiction: little water absorbed but much lost! Precisely because of this, the leaves of lucky bamboo will definitely turn yellow. After lucky bamboo roots, it will get better, and for lucky bamboo, changing the water and cutting off the rhizomes are always ways to make it root.

A classmate told me: three flower-growing remedies, always kept at home, are best for water-grown lucky bamboo; if you figure out a few of them, the leaves will be shiny and healthy! When growing lucky bamboo in water, be sure to pay attention to the several issues of light, water amount, and climate temperature.

1. Half a tablet of aspirin

If the leaves of lucky bamboo turn yellow, you can use 500 grams of water with a crushed aspirin tablet or 1 tablet of VC; then when watering the flowers, drip a few drops, and it can keep lucky bamboo or other potted plants green.

2. Rusty iron nails

What lucky bamboo likes most is iron, and lucky bamboo's requirements for other flower fertilizers are not too high. If it lacks iron, the leaves will show dry yellowing, and the green leaves of the plant will also begin to wither and yellow bit by bit. At that time, you can accordingly give it a little ferrous sulfate in the water.

Of course, if we do not have ferrous sulfate, we can also, as many flower-growing experts say, use rusty iron nails and put them into the water-growing container. However, this method is only suitable for preventing yellow leaves in lucky bamboo. If the yellowing of leaves has already occurred, then it is not very effective.

3. Vitamin B12 tablets

Many people buy lucky bamboo and see that it roots especially slowly, or even does not grow rhizomes at all. Then you need to be careful. If it does not grow roots for a long time, lucky bamboo will, before you know it, have yellow leaves or even die. At this time, you can put a little vitamin B12 into the water, and then it can very easily grow rhizomes. Once a plant roots, it is easy to keep alive.

After the leaves of water-grown lucky bamboo turn yellow, put the above 3 things into the water. Any 1 of them can make lucky bamboo glossy and dark green, and the leaves will not easily wither and yellow or rot at the roots.

During water growing, there are also a few things everyone needs to pay attention to: after lucky bamboo roots, do not change the water frequently. After buying it, first cut the bottom of the lucky bamboo, and a diagonal cut is best. Then put it into a vase and grow it in pure water, and be careful not to soak the leaves, otherwise the leaves will rot before you know it. If root rot occurs, first clean away the rotten rhizomes. Then continue growing it in water to root.
