Taichung City's business registrations in the first half of the year grew twofold compared with last year, ranking first among the six municipalities

In the first half of this year, the number of business registrations in Taichung City increased by 910, accounting for 19.35% of the nation's new registrations, ranking first among the six municipalities, with the number of new registrations more than double that of the same period last year. The Economic Development Bureau of the Taichung City Government stated that Taichung City has an excellent economic environment; not only do large enterprises have a high willingness to invest, but small sole proprietorships and partnerships are also quite active.

The Economic Development Bureau of Taichung City stated that the top five industries by number of new business registrations in the first half of the year were wholesale and retail, with 234; construction, with 171; accommodation and food service, with 168; manufacturing, with 166; and professional, scientific and technical services, with 49, ranking first among the six municipalities in the number of additions.

The capital of business registrations increased by a total of 219 million yuan in the first half of the year, with manufacturing posting the largest increase at 72.3 million yuan, accounting for 32.92%; construction at 60.77 million yuan and wholesale and retail at 53.25 million yuan ranked second and third, accounting for 27.67% and 24.25% of the total increase respectively.

In addition, in the first half of this year, the number of company registrations in Taichung City increased by 1,461, accounting for 16.6% of the nation's new registrations, ranking third among the six municipalities. The top five industries by number of new company registrations were manufacturing, with 506; construction, with 313; professional, scientific and technical services, with 153; wholesale and retail, with 124; and finance and insurance, with 121. In terms of the growth rate by number of companies, the top three - mining and quarrying, agriculture, forestry, fishing and animal husbandry, and electricity and gas supply - had growth rates of 57.14%, 38.46% and 15.38% respectively.

The capital of company registrations increased by a total of 24.6 billion yuan, among which manufacturing posted the largest increase in capital, reaching 8.5 billion yuan, accounting for 34.62%; followed by finance and insurance at 5 billion yuan, accounting for 20.66%; and third was information and communication transmission at 3.2 billion yuan, accounting for 13.27%.
