R7 Innovation Base Unveiled, Chen Chu: Creating a New Highlight for Southern Fashion
To build the largest integrated platform for the lifestyle creative industry in southern Taiwan, the central and local governments joined forces to create the "R7 Southern Fashion Innovation Base," which officially opened on July 8. Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chu pointed out that both the upgrading of traditional industries and the development of emerging industries require central government assistance and support, while the city government will devote itself to creating a friendly, high-quality environment suitable for investment. With the central and local governments working together to promote the high-value development of the petrochemical industry, an innovative and creative Kaohsiung will soon be within reach.
The inauguration ceremony of the R7 Southern Fashion Innovation Base was jointly unveiled by Chen Chu, Minister of Economic Affairs Deng Zhenzhong, and representatives from industry, government and academia, totaling more than 300 people. Chen Chu also toured the current industrial services provided by the innovation base and the creative achievements of young people, demonstrating her attention to and support for all the tenant units. Chen Chu pointed out that the arrival of five major units at the innovation base is an opportunity and a happy occasion for Kaohsiung. She looks forward to integrating the energy of industry, government, schools and research institutions, guiding businesses to invest in new product development, enhancing the added value of products, and providing more job opportunities, showcasing Kaohsiung's renewed vitality.
Following the commissioning of the R7 Southern Fashion Innovation Base to the Footwear and Recreation Technology Research Institute in April last year, under the joint cooperation of the city government and the central government, four major research and development teams under the Ministry of Economic Affairs were brought together, including the Taiwan Textile Federation, the Printing Technology Research Institute, the Plastics Industry Development Center, and the Ministry of Economic Affairs' Petrochemical Industry High-Value Development Office, with a total of five major legal entities jointly moving into the city government's Labor Education and Life Center. It is hoped that by providing diversified industrial and equipment services, integrating local industries and creative youth, a new vitality will be given to Kaohsiung's cultural and creative aesthetics.
