Where are the main hazelnut producing areas distributed?

The hazel is a nut tree species of the genus Corylus in the birch family. There are about 20 species in the world, widely distributed in the temperate regions of Asia, Europe, and North America. Nine species have been confirmed by academia, namely the American hazelnut, the European hazelnut, the Turkish hazelnut, and others, but only the European hazelnut truly has edible value. China has 8 species and 2 varieties naturally distributed.
In China, hazelnut producing areas are mainly distributed in the mountainous areas of the three northeastern provinces, the provinces of North China, the Hengduan Mountains in the southwest, and Gansu, Shaanxi, and Inner Mongolia in the northwest.
Note: Hazelnuts are not suitable for consumption after being stored for a long time. Hazelnuts are rich in oils and fats, and people with severely impaired gallbladder function should eat them with caution. It is advisable to eat 20 nuts each time.
