Qingdao Taiwan Landscape Photography Exhibition: A Glimpse of "A Moment of the Treasure Island"
(Taiwan Business News) The twelve-day “A Moment of the Treasure Island” photography exhibition of Taiwanese scenery and customs by photographers from Qingdao and Taiwan opened in Qingdao on June 29. The Qingdao photography exhibition displays a total of 120 works by renowned photographers from both sides of the Taiwan Strait, offering a comprehensive, multi-angle presentation of Taiwan's local customs and culture.
Hsu Tien-fu, chairman of the Photographic Society of Taiwan, renowned Taiwanese photographer Weng Ting-hua, and eleven other photographers from various parts of Taiwan attended the opening event and held on-site exchanges with photography enthusiasts. During the event, the Taiwanese photographers' delegation also held in-depth discussions with the Qingdao Photographers Association on professional exchanges and creative interaction between photographers from both sides of the Strait, and signed the "Agreement on Establishing Friendly Cooperative Relations between the Qingdao Photographers Association and the Photographic Society of Taiwan."
Hsu Tien-fu said that coming to Qingdao this time, his heart was filled with emotion. The two sides of the Strait share the same roots and origins, and carrying out cultural exchange and cooperation is very necessary. In particular, photography as a theme of cross-Strait cultural exchange is all the more accepted and loved by people on both sides. Through these days of visits to various places in Qingdao, he gained a deeper understanding of Qingdao's folk customs. After returning to Taiwan, he will present more exhibitions in the form of themed photography shows, so that more Taiwanese people can experience the mainland and learn about Qingdao through the lenses of Taiwanese photographers.
In order to let mainland residents learn more about Taiwan, enhance Taiwanese people's understanding of Qingdao, and form the consensus of “one family across the Strait,” relevant departments of the Qingdao municipal government planned a series of activities called the “Joint Exhibition of Outstanding Works by Photographers from Both Sides of the Taiwan Strait,” which will organize two-way photography exhibitions in Qingdao and Taiwan respectively, using works created from different perspectives by photographers from both sides to describe to the public the landscapes and cultures of cities on both sides of the Strait.
