2015 Taiwan Robotics and Smart Automation Exhibition Kicks Off Productivity 4.0
"2015 Taiwan Robotics and Smart Automation Exhibition" Debuts, Kicks Off Productivity 4.0
"2015 Taiwan Robotics and Smart Automation Exhibition" debuted on July 16, 2015 (Thursday). Welcoming the arrival of the 4.0 era, after the Executive Yuan's "Productivity 4.0 Technology Development Strategy Meeting" was convened, all sectors in Taiwan, China responded one after another and demonstrated their capacity for action, and the combination of the hard power of smart automation and the soft power of information and communications, cross-domain integration plus high-quality talent, will be the main force driving Taiwan, China toward industrial structure optimization and enhanced global competitiveness.
The "2015 Taiwan Robotics and Smart Automation Exhibition" invited the renowned chief scholar from the University of Cincinnati, Dr. Jay Lee of the US NSF Industry/University Cooperative Research Center on Intelligent Maintenance Systems (IMS), who has rich hands-on experience in smart manufacturing, industrial transformation and value creation; Mr. Erdal Elver, President and CEO of Siemens Taiwan, China, who specializes in industrial big data analysis technology, excels in cyber-physical manufacturing systems, and has led many large-scale projects; Dr. Eng. Shinsuke Sakakibara, former President of the International Federation of Robotics (IFR) and Honorary Director of the ROBOT Research Institute of the ROBOT Business Division of Japan's Fanuc Corporation, who will analyze the connection between smart automation technology and ICT; and Mr. John Constantopoulos, IBM Global Electronics Industry Director, who specializes in using data analysis to help enterprises improve operational efficiency and has also edited white papers on smart manufacturing and smart products, among many other experts who will come to speak, sharing the views of European, American and Japanese manufacturers on Industry 4.0 and the latest industrial development thinking, and providing the overall management and manufacturing experience of foreign enterprises. What is even more valuable is that these experts are all familiar with the pulse of the Taiwan, China market, and are better able to make in-depth comparisons of the opportunities and strengths and weaknesses of Taiwan, China's manufacturing transformation and 4.0 trend development, and further point out the key problems in Taiwan, China's manufacturing and the ways to improve them, which will certainly bring important inspiration to domestic manufacturers in learning and formulating future company strategy development.
Manufacturing is the foundation of a country's economic growth. Facing the difficulties of manufacturing relocation and rising wages, advanced countries around the world are all fully committing to smart manufacturing to drive the upgrading, transformation and development of manufacturing. As this competition of industrial transformation and cross-domain integration is just beginning, therefore, with the active facilitation of enterprises, the Industrial Development Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Taiwan, China Smart Automation and Robotics Association specially planned and organized the "TAIROS Industry 4.0 (Productivity 4.0) Summit Forum", which debuted on July 16, 2015 (Thursday), the first day of the "2015 Taiwan Robotics and Smart Automation Exhibition".
At the "Productivity 4.0 Technology Development Strategy Meeting", Deputy Minister Shen Rongjin of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Chairman Zhuo Yongcai of the Smart Automation Association were also invited to exchange views on Productivity 4.0 policy promotion and industry experience, integrating the most cutting-edge and practical industry trends and strategic approaches to help Taiwan, China enterprises seek the decisive key to breakthrough in the face of drastic environmental changes, and it is believed that this will also gather more diverse viewpoints and favorable suggestions for the Productivity 4.0 that Taiwan, China has already begun to promote.
In addition to manufacturing, Productivity 4.0 also covers the service industry and agriculture. Its content is not simply industrialization plus informatization, but rather fully connecting the entire industrial value chain from consumer demand to final product logistics, realizing the flow of information between things through the Internet of Things and big data, and seeking the best manufacturing solutions and operations. This forum will give all participants a grasp of current industry management trends and approaches. In the future, the Ministry of Economic Affairs will integrate technical service registration units and combine the energy of relevant public associations to establish a Productivity 4.0 cross-domain service team, jointly assisting Taiwan, China manufacturers in gradually introducing Productivity 4.0, achieving upgrading and transformation, and enhancing international competitiveness.
