The first "Taoyuan Pilot Tourism Factory International Forum" is held in Taoyuan
To help tourism factory operators across the country gain direction for the future development strategies of tourism factories, on July 28 the Taoyuan City Government took the lead nationwide by holding the "Taoyuan Pilot Tourism Factory International Forum" at the Old K Sleep Culture Museum Tourism Factory in Xinwu; Director-General Chang Chang-tsai of the Taoyuan City Economic Development Bureau said he hoped this forum could broaden the horizons of tourism factory operators, enhance international tourism development and jointly create industry prosperity.
Taoyuan City currently has 23 tourism factories, ranking first nationwide in both quality and quantity. It therefore took the lead in holding the country's first "Taoyuan Pilot Tourism Factory International Forum." As many as 150 tourism factory heads, senior executives and potential tourism factory operators attended, including internationally renowned tourism factories certified by the Ministry of Economic Affairs such as the Shou Shin Fang Creative Wagashi Culture Hall, the Kuo Yuan Ye Cake Museum, the Macro Food Chocolate Republic and the Taiwan Braised Snacks Museum. It is hoped that through sustained dialogue and exchange among industry, government and academia, the momentum and sparks for tourism factory operators to move forward will be ignited.
This international forum was opened by Taoyuan Mayor Cheng Wen-tsan personally presiding. Internationally renowned scholar Professor Toshio Mihashi of the Graduate School of Kyoto Prefectural University in Japan, Inspector Hsu Shih-tsan of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Professor Huang Shih-hui of the Design Innovation and Technology R&D Center at National Yunlin University of Science and Technology, Chairman Tsai Meng-che of the Big Taiwan Travel Network, General Manager Chang Tien-ming of Eshuo Internet Technology, Director Hsu Keng-hsiu and Section Chief Tsai Ti-chih of the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute were invited to address three major topics: "Japan's Tourism Industry and Cultural Creativity," "The New Look of Smart Technology" and "New Opportunities for Cross-Domain Value-Added Development." They explored the trends and responses of tourism factories in the face of globalized economic development and expressed full confidence in the vision of connecting tourism factories with the international community.
In recent years, the Taoyuan City Government has made every effort to enhance the brand power of tourism factories. Through MIT Made in Taoyuan, emphasizing the strength of quality-assured products, highlighting the corporate culture of tourism factories and holding various promotional activities, tourism factory operators have received extensive media coverage. In ROC year 103, it secured a NT$15 million land fund project from the Small and Medium Enterprise Administration of the Ministry of Economic Affairs. The project ran from ROC year 103 to ROC year 105, assisting industrial resource integration along three major strategic directions: "factory industrial tourism and specialization," "integration of industry, academia and research" and "international branding of industry." Through counseling and talent cultivation, it introduced concepts of innovative development and brand marketing, helped traditional industry operators transform into tourism factories, led traditional enterprises to sail through blue oceans and reach new peaks, achieved the goal of sustainable operation, and enabled tourism factories in Taoyuan and across the country to leap onto the international stage and become the most dazzling rising stars of the service industry.
The Taoyuan City Government sincerely welcomes people from across the country to come to Taoyuan and experience each tourism factory firsthand. Each tourism factory has its own unique features: come to King Car Food's "Castella Land" and build a house with nagasaki castella; come to the "Shiang-Yi Robot Dream Factory" for a steel ring match; go to the "Tung Ho Music Experience Hall" and bang on scrap metal to feel that music is everywhere in life.
