How to Water a Cactus?

Cacti love sunlight and are not afraid of dryness, so in spring and summer they should be watered once a month. In winter, water once every 2-3 months. Note that when watering, you must water thoroughly. Repotting should be done in spring, and a freshly repotted cactus must not be watered right away; it should be watered only after 1 week. Tips for growing cacti:

Grow it in a clay pot or place a layer of clay shards in the pot to give the roots more breathing space, so root rot is less likely; if you really cannot find clay shards, you will have to drill holes around the sides of the pot for ventilation, so the cactus is less likely to rot.

Grow it in sandy loam soil, and apply fertilizer once every twenty days, continuing until early October.

The principle of watering is: do not water if the soil is not dry, and when you do water, water thoroughly. Do not water too much, and do not go without watering for a long time.

During winter, the cactus should be kept indoors at above 12 degrees.

The cactus is a light-loving plant, so let it get as much sun as possible; it cannot go without sunlight for a long time.
